We’re Yorkshire born and bred.
Hard work, grit, determination, cricket and fair play – they’re part of our DNA, and why we’re committed to the very highest levels of quality and service
HWL is a leading manufacture of windows and doors, specialising in the manufacture of Residence 9 windows.
This includes the supply of R9 unglazed, something made possible through our pioneering application of Timberweld® PVC-U welding technologies.
It allows us to deliver a traditional 90° butt-weld inside and out, creating a traditional joint but in a far stronger, welded window, eliminating the requirement to glass bond the frame, simplifying and lowering the cost of installation and remedial work without compromising on strength or performance.
We work with installers, supplying retail and home improvement markets, as well as developers. We also work as a specialist supplier of products to other fabrication businesses who don’t want to disrupt their core production to manufacture a non-core product.
We added the Spectus vertical sliding sash window to our offer in 2006, along with new composite door ranges.
Manufacture of Residence 9 started in 2013, alongside our aluminium operation and a move to our new 27,000sq ft manufacturing facility, opening our trade counter business in 2015.
Our aluminium operation also became a stand-alone business, Nordic Aluminium, in 2015 as a specialist manufacturer of Smart Aluminium Systems.
HWL Trade Frames is part of the HWL Windows Group, which also encompasses Nordic Aluminium. We have over 100 people working within the group and deliver our products across the UK.
A commitment to product quality and service
We’re committed to driving forward ever higher levels of product performance through innovation and build-quality. All of our doors are manufactured to the same exacting standards and against strict quality controls.
We’re also committed to exceptional customer service and support. Our team has decades of collective experience in window and door manufacture and installation. We’re here to help, including design support for complex installations.
Minimising our environmental impact
We work at all times to minimise the impact of our business on the environment. This includes all aspects of our operation from working to deliver increased efficiency and reduction in our energy consumption to transparency of supply chain and responsible sourcing of materials. We are also committed to recovering and recycling manufacturing waste and materials generated by end-of-life products.
Manufactured in the UK
We work with supply partners who share our values and commitment to make a positive contribution to society and the environment. Manufactured in the UK, this includes full supply chain transparency on all windows and doors which we supply.
